Free Form Dance & Movement Class
Iowa City
Our bodies can become a resource to help us alter our own realities. When we hold our bodies as sacred, and work on connecting with them during intentional movement, we can begin a personal reawakening. I invite you to join a community of others who are curious and ready to explore using Movement as Medicine and surrendering into the Mystery of the moment.
No dance experience necessary, all body types welcome! Take a risk and be brave, it will be a lot of fun, come dance your heart out, feel free and joyful in your body! Learn to love and listen to your body, not from your head but from your body itself.
Each week we will have a unique focus for our class:
Week 1-Intro. to Free Form Dance & Movement
This first class will have lots of instruction so that those that are new to Free Form Movement (or new to dancing in a group setting) will feel comfortable and ready to experiment on their own in future classes. Adina will model a long list of "forms of movement" for the group to explore with their bodies in this judgement-free space. Eyes are often half closed to remain with an inward focus.
Week 2-Timelessness & Mindfulness
Moment by moment, in a beautiful active mindful practice, (using the foundations of Week #1 to feel comfortable) students will explore their bodies from the inside out, connecting to their physical & energetic bodies, outside of Time.
Week 3-Dancing Through the 9 Layers of Your Body (from Organs to Energy)
From the gross to the very subtle, connect to your body's organs, tissues, cells, atoms and beyond. Communicate with conscious intention to create a positive relationship with your body. In addition you can focus on a any specific body parts that need your attention.
Week 4-Journey to your Body
You will do a shamanic journey using Free Form Movement (instead of laying down with our eyes closed), tracking your personal intention or question about your body or health. You will find your own answers, or clues, in Non-Ordinary Reality while Adina drums (on her sacred handmade deerskin drum) to shift your mind out of Consensual Reality.
Week 5-Calling Back Your Personal Power (from your past or your Ancestry)
Do you feel that part of your Personal Power needs to be retrieved? Set an intention this week to stalk your own power and call it home into your body.
Week 6-Transmutation & Gratitude
We come together as a group and dance our powerful journey with one another.

Can I "try" the class first before signing up?
You can "try" the first class of the 6 week series for $15 but you still need to pre-register to make sure there is room for you in the class.
After the 1st class there will not be "drop-ins".

Adina will send you an email confirmation that she received your registration and that there is room for you in the class.
